As a person in the workforce, how are you handling jobs, promotions, layoffs, and goals for jobs?  As a recruiter, do you know what attracts candidates - and how they evaluate your application process?

Join others in discussion of the changes in career management
in an era of job insecurity

Today is the kickoff of a food drive to address food insecurity - you are encouraged to bring items that are nonperishable for
veterans' Hero's Cupboard

You will learn:

1. How applications and resumes are written and reviewed today: is the process working for recruiters? For job seekers? How do we get the match both parties seek.

2. Latest trends in use of LinkedIn and personal networking - and how recruiter and job seeker expectations might be better synchronized. Are you using this resource efficiently for talent acquisition? How does networking affect your appeal to all parts of your community?

3. The process of negotiation is setup long before an offer is made. Factors such as appearance and behavior have impact long before the offer is on the table. Recognize factors that might be affecting your intentions to appeal to military and other segments of the community. Recognize factors that might be affecting your intentions in both hiring and promotion/career pathing decisions.

4. Breakthroughs in AI for career management - tools business, education, and individuals can explore for self-development in career direction and communications. What can support employee career development in the 2020s?

Dr. Mary M Rydesky, SHRM-SCP has gained experience in HR management as a practitioner, consultant, corporate trainer, author, and educator at the university level. She is a member of the National Career Development Association (NCDA) and the Association for Training and Development (ATD) as well as SHRM and has been published on recruiting, hiring, and job searching in the digital age. Her clients succeed in getting interviews! Currently, she serves as President of the Anchorage Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (ASHRM) and as Communications Director the the Northwest Human Resource Management Association (NHRMA).

Penny Mosher, MAM  serves as the Lead Budget Analyst for the 673d Medical Group (MDG) at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER), where she leverages her expertise in financial planning and resource optimization to support the organization's mission. Penny holds a Master of Management degree, specializing in Organizational Management, from Wayland Baptist University.

In addition to her professional role, Penny actively contributes to her community by serving on the Anchorage Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) Board as Treasurer, demonstrating her leadership and commitment to advancing HR practices. She also serves as the Chair of the Planning and Zoning Commission for the City of Palmer, Alaska, dedicating her time to shaping the city's development and planning initiatives.

Through her multifaceted roles, Penny exemplifies a blend of analytical expertise, leadership acumen, and community dedication.
