Workforce Readiness is more than a buzz-word. It is an essential part of our role as HR professionals and Board members. This position monitors and evaluates on a continuing basis local activities concerning workforce readiness issues and plans and encourages chapter involvement and activities impacting the workforce readiness arena.

We support student programs from K-12 to college students, job fairs, and participation in other community events. Check out some of what we do!

ASD Partnership - Career READY program (High School)

We Need Your Help - Online!!

ASHRM is once again partnering with Career & Technical Education for ASD with reviewing student resumes and providing professional feedback to improve and polish their finished product. They are also preparing students by conducting mock-interviews over the phone.

Resume Review (Timeframe ~ end of February)

What would be involved? The students will complete a 1^st draft of their resumes through a very basic resume generator. Their teacher will review their first draft for revisions. The second and final draft will be sent to their ASHRM evaluator. Our volunteers would then provide feedback to the student via an online resume feedback form.

Online Mock Interviews (~ March)

What would be involved?

Volunteer interviewers will be assigned to a teacher
The teacher will assign 4-5 students to an interviewer.
The student will email the interviewer to arrange a time that works for both of them, let them know what position they are applying for, and include their resume as an attachment.
We will provide the 10 interview questions and job descriptions for the 3 jobs.
Interviews will take place during normal business hours, Mon-Fri.
The interviewer will set up a time for a 15 min phone interview, with about 5 min for constructive feedback at the end of the role play. (Total 20-25 min)
After the phone interview, the interviewer will fill out the Mock Interview Feedback Form online that gets emailed directly to the student.

What is the timeframe for this project? Resume reviews will be completed around the end of February. The mock-interviews will be held in March (specific timing TBD).
