Every day, HR professionals face negotiations affecting every facet of their businesses, including interactions with customers, collaborating with suppliers, problem-solving with subsidiaries, and reaching successful agreements within their own organizations and employees. The quality of the agreements reached depends on your negotiating ability. In this presentation you will learn the basic principles of negotiation and how you can more smartly navigate the impact that external factors like the economy, pandemic and societal changes to reach the desired outcome.


DR. FRANK JEFFRIES

Frank Jeffries holds a BA in Marketing, an MBA, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration. Prior to entering academia he worked for 15 years in the high tech industry gaining experience in sales, sales management, product management, and program management positions. He is currently retired as Professor Emeritus of Management at the College of Business and Public Policy at UAA. During his career at the College of Business and Public Policy he taught courses at the senior and graduate level in negotiation, organizational behavior, and organization development. He has published over 30 research papers on negotiation, generational differences in motivation, safety culture, and trust. He has consulted for local and national businesses, and has experience as a management and negotiation coach.
