National Disability Employment Awareness Month - The Benefits of a Diverse Workforce
This program is pre-approved for 1 SHRM PDC & HRCI General Credit
Lynne Sauve,
Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, State of Alaska

Join us in celebrating National Disability Employment Awareness Month! Our October program will educate our members on diversity in the workforce and how it helps the business both within community relationships and the actual bottom line. Hear the statistics about how diversity positively affects employers in these two areas and more. The program will also address common misconceptions including those related to workplace accidents. Information will be provided on how the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation can assist employers with supporting a diverse workplace, and how to contact their Business Outreach Team.
Our program will also educate members on the SHRM Foundation’s COMPLIMENTARY Employing Abilities @Work Certificate Program. This initiative was launched to strengthen the skills and abilities of professionals to hire, develop, advance and retain individuals with disabilities in their workplace.
